About the Event
Please join us for our next speaker series engagement of 2024 with with Dr. Elizabeth Bowen, an Associate Professor in the University at Buffalo School of Social Work. Informed by her social work practice experience, Bowen’s research addresses homelessness and socioeconomic status as social determinants of health, with a focus on addiction recovery. She led a research team in developing the Multidimensional Inventory of Recovery Capital, a free tool that measures recovery capital including social, physical, human, and cultural/community domains. In this session, we will be discussing what recovery capital is and how a different data measurement helps capture changes for clients in reentry while they address their needs in the community. We will also discuss the purpose of implementing the Multidimensional Inventory Recovery Capital (MIRC) assessment to collaborative courts.
